“best choice”

A very nice, romantic hotel with an extraordinary friendly and professional staff. We were helped with every wish we had. Our baby also felt very comfortable. The breakfast is amazingly fresh and rich, with a fantastic view, including the Marmara Sea. Absolutly best choice we could have made!

“A great family run hotel close to all the historic sites”

We visited Deniz Houses hotel in early March for a late winter break in Istanbul, our first visit to the city. Even before we arrived the hotel staff contacted us via email and were extremely helpful with their advice about getting to and from the airport and other services they provided.

The hotel is a great family run operation with really friendly front of house staff. The rooms are well appointed with really comfortable beds. We paid extra for rooms with a sea view and this was worth every extra Euro. Breakfast is on the top floor of the hotel with views overlooking the Mamara Sea. The breakfast itself is a really comprehensive mix of cereals, breads, cheese, local pastries and Turkish specialities - something for everyone.

If you're looking for a hotel close to the historic sites of the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and the Topkapi Palace - you couldn't do better than this one. You're 10 minutes leisurely walk and see the Blue Mosque from the top floor of the hotel.

A good, sound hotel that delivers a no nonsense, comfortable stay - offering great value for money and a really warm welcome. We will return to Istanbul and this hotel

“The hotel that treats you like family”

I received a warm welcome from everyone at this hotel, from the airport transfer people to the front desk receptionists and the breakfast coordinator.

Once the seaside home of a well-to-day Turkish family, Deniz Houses hotel is located in the heart of Sultanahment, one of the most tourisity areas of Istanbul. While it is not a luxury hotel, it treats guests like family and is charmingly reflective of Turkish hosptality. The staff are friendly, courteous, efficient and ever ready to help.

The rooms are small, but spic and span and on the south side, offer a splendid view of the Sea of Marmora. The complimentary eat-all-you can breakfasts are substantial and are a great way to begin a day of exploring the many attractions of the city.

With its affordable prices, it is good value for budget-conscious travellers.

Kerem,

We enjoyed our stay at your hotel very much.  The accommodations were very nice, and you and all of the staff were very kind, courteous and friendly.  You made us very welcome, and your assistance with some of our sightseeing efforts really made our time very pleasant and enjoyable.  We would highly recommend you to others.

Again, many thanks to you and the entire Deniz House staff for your excellence.

Kind regards,
David Pollock

“Value & quality”

My stay at Deniz Houses B was lovely.

Good location: all main attractions are within walking distance, and the kucuk ayasofia street was full of minimarkets and nice restaurants.

My twin room was very clean and spacious enough for two guests and big luggage. Large shower with hot water running 24/24 (i tested it with a shower at 3 am, no problem).

Good heating in both rooms, even too hot, had to turn it down.

Very good homemade breakfast on the third floor panoramic terrace. Good choice, there is enough to suit different tastes.

Nice and helpful staff, did very good arranging transfers, laundry and other things.

Overall: quality service at very low cost. I would definitely recommend this hotel for travellers of all budgets.

“Excellent value in Sultanahmet”

This boutique hotel is full of gentle quirks, character and charm. The staff is terrific, the winter hot water is hot and the room clean and warm, our room had great views over the Sea of Marmara. Low doorways and marble stairs are part of the authentic architecture of the building. We found this hotel via backpackers travel agency, a superb travel agency just a few streets away. Our stay and tour was very expertly put together by Atilla Yurttas at backpacker's, who invested real care and ongoing attentions to the success of our trip. Highly recommended!!!

Dear Mr. Benigil,

I am glad to hear from you again, we spent a couple of great days at the Deniz Houses hotel in Istanbul last week.  Our stay was the highlight of our visit to this beautiful city.  We were impressed with the room we stayed in, the view to the outside was beautiful, the room was very clean and neat, the support we got from you and the staff was very helpful and all these factors together made our stay a real wonderful experience.  I am hoping that in our next visit to your lovely city that we get the opportunity to stay with you again.  Our room in the main floor was very convenient  for a couple in our age.  The next day after arriving back to Cairo, I wrote a note to Trip Advisors expressing my pleasure about our stay at your hotel.

“The most homelike hotel!”

I stayed in Istanbul with my daughter for 7 nights. The staff at the hotel is very kind and friendly, they help you in any problem. The location is great and you have two beautiful views from the terrace (Blue Mosque and the Marmara Sea). The breakfast was excellent, with a lot of dishes. The rooms are very clean and they change the laundry every day. I will definitely stay at Deniz Houses if I return to Istanbul! I felt like home there! Congratulations, Deniz Houses!

“Loved it and will be back!”

Spent 3 nights there at the end of June. Room was really cozy, great sea view, clean bathroom. Very friendly and professional staff, always helpful: the receptionists make you feel welcome and help you with whatever questions you might have, and Ayten, the lady who fixes breakfast ,does a wonderful job. The view from the breakfast room is awesome (one one side you can see the roofs of Istanbul , on the other side the sea). Only one problem: no hot water one night, but the receptionist fixed it immediately after I told him about it. Highly recommend this place!

“Cozy, comfortable place, excellent service!”

We stayed here on 2 separate occasions, 1 night upon arrival in Turkey, and another 3 nights before leaving Turkey. We got a small room on our first night, in the main building on the upper floors. The room was lovely and rustic, a bit small but very quaint and nice. It was clean, and everything worked perfectly fine. The breakfast room is located in the rooftop terrace, which provided spectacular views. The breakfast selection was decent, not too large selection but of good quality and yummy. The staff manning the breakfast buffet was friendly, polite and helpful. The manager was extremely helpful and friendly, but he's a very busy man and is quite hard to get hold of.

Location wise, the hotel is perfect as it is near a lot of shops and restaurant, yet not too near the hustle and bustle of Sultanahmet, which is noisy. We easily reached the Blue Mosque and other attractions in under 10 mins of walking, passing through shops, restaurants and a bazaar. It is also near the water, so the views from the rooftop terrace are fantastic.

On our 2nd stay, we had very large, full luggages each, and the manager helped us get a bigger room to accommodate our heavy luggages. He gave us a room in the 2nd block, adjacent to the 1st, which is a lot more modern and newly furnished. The room was beautiful, large and airy, and the furnishings were mostly new. The bathroom was bright and large and very comfortable.

We had to make a local phonecall to Emirates but the phone in the room wasn't working as their lines were down. The staff allowed us to use the phone in the reception (for a fee), and even helped us dial the number when we ran into trouble with Turkish prompts.

Fuss free wifi with no issues of connecting. Password given upon check-in.

Overall a splendid stay, the rooms are beautiful and the staff are warm and accommodating. Brilliant hotel manager pulls it all together nicely.

“Our Home in Istanbul”

My husband and I stayed here in June for a total of about 10days. We stayed for the first week of our vacation, then we came back after going on a side venture to Safranbolu, and then back again after visiting Petra and Wadi Rum in Jordan. We were so happy at Deniz House. I had been communicating by e-mail with Kerem before we got there. I had made our reservation online with him several months prior to our arrival. He was the one who checked us in the night we got there. He took such good care of us, going out of his way to make us comfortable after our long journey from the states. He would always help us with bus tickets and directions to the ferry and tell us how to reach the proper public transportation, restaurant suggestions and many things I don't even remember.

The room was perfect: two twin beds with bedside tables and a big cupboard with closet and shelf for your clothes (like a built in armoire). There was a nice small frig in the room and a dressing table. Also a small balcony with table and chairs overlooking the Sea of Marmara. The bathroom was well designed and clean with lots of hot running water.

They have the most adorable breakfast room on the top floor where Ayten prepares a fresh breakfast buffet with all sorts of delights every morning. She was so cheerful that even though we didn't speak but a few words of each others' language I really felt she was my friend.

Equally lovely was Murile who cleaned our room daily and did many other things in the hotel to make things run so smoothly. Thank you Murile for keeping the room so nice!

We had such a good time in Deniz House. It's the kind of place where you look forward to getting back after being away because you feel like you are coming home to visit family. We felt so welcome. Thanks to all the staff at Deniz House who made our stay the very best. We will surely go back there. Hello to our friends Kerem, Ayten and Murile. Hope you are well and may God bless you always.

“Great deal in Istanbul”

I stayed at the Deniz Konak a few weeks ago. If you are visiting Istanbul for the first time and want to be close all of the attractions it's perfect. Pretty quiet at night as all the other action is across town. Rooms are clean, with good basic amenities and a very friendly and efficient staff. Breakfast is a good deal as well. My room looked like the pictures and had a minibar, slippers and a bathroom with a tub and shower. Wifi was not the best, but available in the lobby. I'd stay here again!

“Great find for a quick trip”

With a million choices of places to stay in Istanbul, I was extremely satisfied with my choice to stay here for 2 nights. The staff was helpful, the room was clean and had everything we needed, the breakfast was good and had a great view, and the location was perfect. Great price. Great find. Would definitely stay again.
